Jefo is currently seeking a Sales Manager – Ruminant, Monogastric & Commodities


Location: Querétaro, Mexico

Salary : To be discussed

Shift : Day

Status : Permanent full-time


Summary of position:

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all sales activities across the Ruminant, Monogastric, and Commodities business units in Mexico. This role has full accountability for the performance, development, and coordination of the entire sales team in Mexico. The Sales Manager ensures the alignment of local sales strategies with global corporate objectives, drives revenue growth, and strengthens customer relationships across all market segments.


Main responsibilities of the position:

1. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the full Mexico sales team, including Ruminant, Monogastric, and Commodities functions.
  • Ensure alignment, collaboration, and performance consistency across all sales segments.
  • Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and support continuous improvement.
  • Participate actively in recruitment, onboarding, and talent development within the Mexico team.


2. Sales Strategy & Business Development

  • Execute the sales strategy for Mexico in alignment with corporate vision and growth targets.
  • Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive dynamics within the Mexican market.
  • Drive business development initiatives to expand market share across all animal production segments.
  • Optimize the allocation of sales resources to maximize profitability and growth.


3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and strategic partners in Mexico.
  • Support the development of major accounts and lead high-level negotiations when required.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and service excellence across all regions.


4. Commodities Integration

  • Oversee and support the commodities sales activities within Mexico.
  • Ensure strong coordination between the commodities function and the broader sales organization.
  • Provide guidance and strategic direction to the employee responsible for commodities to optimize results.


5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor sales performance (KPIs), ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
  • Analyze sales results and market trends to recommend strategic adjustments.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility, and reporting to senior leadership.


6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with marketing, technical services, supply chain, finance, and regulatory teams.
  • Contribute to pricing strategies, margin optimization, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure smooth execution of sales operations and alignment with global initiatives.


Required Competencies:


Education / experience

  • Academic background: Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry, Agronomic Engineering or related careers.
  • Specialization or postgraduate degree in Nutrition, Agribusiness or related areas (desirable).
  • Minimum experience of 15 years in technical and commercial areas of the livestock sector.
  • Proven experience leading teams.


Technical skills

  • Knowledge of the industry, animal welfare and health. With close relationships with decision makers in animal nutrition.


In-depth knowledge in :

  • Management of commercial teams (control and metrics).
  • Talent Development & Coaching
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making Sound People Management Practices Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in CRM (Sales Force).
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish, speaking, writing, reading), French is an asset.
