Indeed, it is estimated that eighty percent of people searching for a home in New York City used StreetEasy or one of the affiliated Zillow Group websites.
StreetEasy is reimagining the way people buy, sell, and rent homes across New York City and New Jersey.

StreetEasy’s website and mobile apps provide vetted and verified listings, plus intuitive search tools and data-driven guides to help people unlock the opportunity of living here.

We are a technology driven group who constantly strive to use data to build groundbreaking products. The creative and innovative solutions we build are used by millions of people in New York and across the country. About the role

You will work on large, ambiguous and cross-functional problems with our Product, Marketing & Strategy & Operation teams and come up with data driven insights that push the business forward.

This role helps understand questions such as:

  • User insights & segmentation: how do users behave on our site (and beyond) and what patterns can we identify? Can we segment users in ways that help our marketing and product teams provide a better experience?

  • Experimentation: can we standardize the way we run A/B tests and automate all our test analyses? How can we run 10x more experiments in 1-2 years?

  • Reporting and storytelling: how can we succinctly summarize how our business is performing? What metrics should we track, how should we define them and why?

  • Data modeling and data architecture: how do we structure our data so that it can easily answer most questions? How do we expose the data to other teams?

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

  • Champion the importance of data and data driven decision making.

  • Create dashboards in Tableau & Databricks

  • Create frameworks that can be reused by other team members, e.g. simulations or causal inference analysis.

  • Work with engineering teams to improve data collection procedures to ensure integrity and quality of the data.

About the team The Database Engineering (DBE) team at Zillow is responsible for designing, building, and supporting the mission critical database infrastructure that powers Zillow’s products and services. We manage a diverse portfolio of databases including AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL & MySQL) and SQL Server on EC2, with a strong focus on automation, performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

Our team is part of the Platform & Infrastructure Engineering (PIE) organization, which supports Zillow’s transformation to a modern, cloud-native architecture. As we move closer to completing the final aspect of our data center exit, we are focused on building a developer first, API driven platform that empowers internal teams to self-serve and operate confidently at scale, while maintaining strong operational and security standards. About the role

As a Senior Database Engineer at Zillow, you will help shape the future of database services across our platform. You will be responsible for the design, provisioning, and lifecycle management of cloud-based transactional databases, supporting high throughput services used by millions of Zillow customers.

You’ll also play a key role in our shift toward greater automation, observability, and intelligent operations using infrastructure-as-code and AI-augmented tooling.

This is a high impact engineering role that blends deep database expertise with platform thinking, collaboration, and customer empathy. You’ll work closely with developers, system engineers, data engineers, and other platform teams to create reliable, scalable, and secure database solutions, while driving standards, reducing operational overhead, and solving tough infrastructure challenges.

As a Senior Database Engineer at Zillow, you will:
  • Own the full lifecycle of Aurora (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and SQL Server databases in AWS, from design and provisioning to monitoring, tuning, and retirement.

  • Develop and maintain automation for provisioning, scaling, and managing databases using Terraform and Python/Bash scripting.

  • Partner with developers and system engineers to support modern application patterns, including real-time replication, read replicas, CI/CD workflows, and temporary on-demand environments.

  • Champion observability by integrating performance insights, slow query logs, and cost data into a centralized metrics and alerting framework.

  • Contribute to and evolve our API-first database platform, exposing key database workflows through self-service portals and internal developer tooling.

  • Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis for critical production issues, owning outcomes and continuously improving reliability.

  • Act as a mentor, technical resource, and collaborative partner to engineers across Zillow, helping to raise the bar in database operations and cloud-native design.

  • Explore and pilot AI-powered agents and recommendations for query tuning, anomaly detection, cost optimization, and access governance.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are
  • Deep expertise in at least one core database engine (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server), with hands-on experience in cloud-managed database services like AWS RDS and Aurora.

  • A track record of building secure, resilient, and performant database infrastructure in production environments.

  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code, ideally Terraform, and strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

  • Experience troubleshooting complex query performance, replication, or availability issues using native database tools and cloud metrics (e.g., CloudWatch, pg_stat_statements, Perf Insights).

  • A customer-first mindset and clear communication skills—you listen, guide, and educate with humility.

  • A bias for action, continuous improvement, and building systems that reduce friction and increase developer productivity.

Descripción Del Trabajo

About the team BuyAbility℠ is Zillow Home Loans’ flagship affordability engine, spotlighted in the 2025 Shareholder Letter after helping over 1.5 million shoppers in its first year. Unlike static calculators, BuyAbility delivers personalized, real-time budgets—a comfortable target and a stretch max—updated daily as mortgage rates and market conditions shift.
These budgets appear throughout the Zillow app (search, filters, listing pages), immediately showing whether a home is “within BuyAbility” and what steps a shopper can take to close the gap. By providing personalized insights and a seamless in-app experience, BuyAbility guides users from initial interest to mortgage-ready, increasing the likelihood they will choose ZHL for their financing needs.

Looking ahead, we’re rolling out:
- Soft credit pulls (Experian) for sharper affordability estimates.
- Financial-viability questions that help predict readiness to transact.
- An in-app pre-approval step that turns a budget into verified buying power.
- Push notification campaigns that re-engage shoppers when market shifts (e.g., interest rate drops, credit changes) improve their buying power—or when new homes within budget hit the market.
- Design research shows that renters and first-time buyers, particularly from underrepresented communities, benefit from low-friction, transparent guidance. BuyAbility is being built to nurture these shoppers until they’re mortgage-ready—and then deliver just-in-time human support to help them close with confidence. About the role

We’re hiring a Senior Mobile Engineering Manager to lead a team of iOS and Android engineers that power BuyAbility in the Zillow app. You’ll partner closely with product, design, marketing, data science, and back-end engineers to deliver seamless affordability and engagement features that carry customers from budgeting to closing.

You’ll play a critical role in scaling the team, modernizing our mobile tech stack, and shaping cross-platform experiences that make home buying more accessible and transparent.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

What you'll do:

Product & Execution
  • Own the mobile roadmap and execution for iOS and Android, partnering across disciplines to deliver user-centered features.

  • Maximize team effectiveness in delivering value—set clear goals, drive iterative delivery. Improve coordination with back-end partners and reduce cross-team dependencies where possible to unlock faster, more autonomous execution.

  • Launch secure, seamless login with Auth0, passkeys, and biometric MFA.

  • Stand up real-time analytics using a unified SDK for mobile + back-end instrumentation and fast experimentation.

  • Roll out personalized push notifications that nudge users when buying power improves due to credit or interest rate changes, or when new listings fall within their affordability range.

Team Leadership & Growth
  • Hire, mentor, and scale a growing team of mobile engineers.

  • Set clear career paths and build a high-trust, inclusive culture that promotes learning and autonomy.

  • Collaborate with other mobile teams in Zillow Home Loans to align roadmaps and share best practices.

Architecture & Engineering Excellence
  • Champion high standards for code quality, automated testing, performance, and on-call resilience.

  • Drive adoption of contract testing and agentic end-to-end tests to ensure reliable service integration and minimize regressions.

  • Evolve shared, server-driven native components for scalable UI and logic reuse across the Zillow app.

  • Maintain harmony across mobile, web, and APIs using modern GraphQL patterns.

CDMX Zillow

Descripción Del Trabajo

About the team The Infrastructure Systems Engineering team transforms complex infrastructure systems into simple, scalable, and highly available platforms that accelerate developer velocity and business outcomes. We focus on building resilient, software-driven solutions that power core compute, storage, and foundational services like DNS, OS imaging, and certificate management across both Windows and Linux environments.

We are also a high-performing operations team, responsible for managing the scaling, performance, security, and lifecycle of critical infrastructure across the company. As our platform matures, we’re increasingly focused on optimizing operational processes and streamlining infrastructure management—freeing up time and capacity to build self-service platforms that abstract complexity for our internal customers and enable high-velocity development.

We apply software engineering principles to the infrastructure domain—crafting modular Infrastructure-as-Code, configuration management pipelines, and self-service capabilities that abstract cloud complexity for internal engineering and non-technical customers. You’ll work closely with product engineering, networking, SRE, developer experience, and container platform teams to deliver foundational capabilities that empower Zillow’s internal teams and directly impact customer-facing experiences.

We are a geographically distributed, multidisciplinary team that values ownership, transparency, and impact. We participate in a regular on-call rotation to ensure reliability and responsiveness across our systems. About the role

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Zillow’s next-generation infrastructure platform. This is a highly collaborative, high-impact role for an engineer who thrives on designing, automating, and delivering reliable systems at national scale in a microservices-based, product engineering environment.

You’ll help scale and operate infrastructure that supports thousands of services and applications across Zillow Group, while contributing to our long-term strategy of transitioning from traditional operations to platform-based, productized infrastructure services. This evolution empowers teams across the company to manage their infrastructure needs without deep systems knowledge, increasing velocity and reliability.

This is not a maintenance role. You’ll shape the future of infrastructure at Zillow, working on high-visibility, high-impact initiatives that simplify and scale infrastructure delivery across the company. You’ll introduce new technologies, define best practices, and directly impact developer experience and operational excellence.

If you're passionate about building elegant infrastructure solutions, love to drive change through code, and want to leave your mark on a dynamic and growing engineering organization—we want to hear from you.

In this role, you will:
  • Design and build foundational infrastructure services using automation-first, software-defined approaches.

  • Lead development of reusable infrastructure software that abstracts and simplifies AWS provisioning and lifecycle management.

  • Contribute to re-platforming legacy infrastructure toward modern, cloud-native solutions.

  • Drive operational efficiency through system automation, lifecycle management, monitoring, and configuration management.

  • Own core infrastructure technologies, including OS provisioning, DNS, certificate management, AMIs, and network security groups across Windows and Linux.

  • Be a key contributor to incident response, change management, and roadmap planning.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and platform teams as your customers to identify infrastructure bottlenecks and develop scalable solutions.

  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and continuously improve service reliability and observability.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

You are a builder and change agent with a product mindset and strong systems engineering background. You thrive in solving infrastructure problems with code and have a passion for clean, repeatable, and scalable processes.

You’ll bring:
  • 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Systems, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) within large-scale enterprise environments.

  • A demonstrated track record of designing, building, and supporting large-scale, highly available infrastructure services using automation and software development principles.

  • Deep expertise with AWS, including services such as EC2, Route 53, IAM, AMIs, security groups, and cost optimization strategies.

  • Fluency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu, and experience developing and maintaining automated infrastructure pipelines using tools like GitLab.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, and a functional understanding of other languages such as Java or Go.

  • Comfort and fluency working across both Linux and Windows environments, including Active Directory, OpenDJ, and large-scale LDAP deployments.

  • Proficiency in source control systems (e.g., Git) and an understanding of code lifecycle best practices and branching strategies.

  • Experience designing and maintaining configuration management, backup and recovery strategies, and vulnerability management systems.

  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture and the ability to influence and participate in architectural decisions.

  • Experience building and supporting containerized environments and container image pipelines.

  • A solid understanding of core networking concepts, including load balancing, DNS, IPsec, and access controls.

  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation, monitoring, and logging (e.g., Prometheus, Zabbix, or similar) for visibility into system health and availability.

  • A strong ownership mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve high-impact infrastructure issues effectively and independently.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional partners.

  • A growth mindset and intellectual curiosity, continuously exploring legacy and emerging technologies to evolve systems and optimize performance.
