Position: Controller
Location: Apodaca, Mexico
Position Overview: Establishes, implements, directs, and controls the accounting activities including data planning and development. Must take on a strong leadership role within the management of the plant and operations. In addition, monitor and advise management on the financial performance and operations of the plant. Able to lead a group of people in a department and work closely with manufacturing to analyze costs and make improvements to minimize costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the operations and business entity.
- Establish and implement a cost accounting system including standard costs and cost roll process.
- Establish SOX control environment.
- Creates and reviews operations and accounting reports for abnormalities including variances to forecast and budget. Develop corrective actions as appropriate.
- Lead the budgeting process by working with the various plant departments.
- Monitors the Business Information System maintenance.
- Reviews and analyzes unit costs and profit margins for finished products and product manufacturing costs.
- Oversees capital assets including depreciation, purchases, and retirements and ensures the annual asset inventory verification is completed. Ensures all capital requests have proper approval and are accounted for correctly.
- Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
- Directs and/or prepares accounting journal entries at the end of each accounting period.
- Reviews and analyzes manufacturing efficiencies and cost variances and keeps management informed of trends.
- Works with corporate accounting with the yearend financial close and the external financial audit requirements.
- Works with the Corporate Internal Audit department to ensure required procedures are being followed and to ensure accuracy of the financial data reported.
- Develops and monitors inventory cycle counting procedures.
- Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.

- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial position
- Proficiency in financial management software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Experience in a manufacturing company strongly preferred.
- Experience in standard cost-manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a publicly traded company strongly preferred.

Job Description
- Oversee and communicate all cash flow matters, including timely preparation of cash flow reports, management of receivables/payables, and proper fund deposits.
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of revenues and expenses in compliance with hotel standards.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Direct the production and accuracy of daily and monthly financial reports.
- Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to meet financial goals.

Qualifications
- College Degree in Business, Hospitality, Accounting/Finance or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive Finance/Accounting management experience in a full service property, all inclusive, or luxury resort
- Ability to create, implement and monitor hotel and staff goals, strategies and policies
- Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility
- Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct employees and managers to meet desired ends
- Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times

JOB DESCRIPTION
EIS is searching for an organized, analytical, and decisive Controller with excellent leadership and communication skills to ensure department accuracy, efficiency and provide strong leadership to our Accounts Payable department. To succeed, the candidate should be focused on optimizing strategic department initiatives and building lasting relationships with others within and outside of the business. The position will be responsible for managing the accounts payable activities for both the US and LATAM business including the processing and payment of invoices timely, proper matching of purchase order and receiving documents, correct distribution of expense to the general ledger, and proper storage of supporting documents. This position also assists in performance evaluations and managing team members to achieve goals set forth by management.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating accounts payable staff members in Mexico and the US
- Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial information to management and government agencies
- Developing, implementing, improving, and enforcing budgets, policies, and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Administrator of the Concur Expense and Invoice Management System
- Ensure EDI and Conexium vendor process is functioning as expected
- Ensure proper coding and distribution of expenses to the general ledger
- Develop and maintain key metrics as required by management
- Perform account reconciliations of vendor payable accounts and research and resolve discrepancies
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Ensure timely processing and completion of month-end, quarter-end and end-of-year transactions, reporting requirements and close process.
- Perform various close activities ensuring branch expense review and provision, in addition to support audit requests as directed by management.
- Experience with IRS 1099 compliance and reporting/documentation for audits
- Work cross functionally with other departments within the company
- Assist in complex initiatives to streamline and improve the Accounts Payable process through systems automation and process improvements
- Assist in M&A projects as needed
