Objective:

Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely issuance of financial information in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local legislation, and Mercedes-Benz corporate policies. The position also manages communications with external auditors to support audit processes and safeguard accounting disclosures. Day to day (main tasks):


Financial Reporting:

•Consolidate and reconcile data against financial system.

•Prepare financial reports for the Mexican stock market, legal, external affairs and taxes requirements.

•Cost of Sales and Inventory deviations analysis and reporting to management.

•Create and maintain accounting calendar to inform parties of necessary deadline adherence for financial close, monthly closing, financial statement audit, etc.

•Ensure timely monthly and Annual Reports on consolidation System.


Financial Statements:

•Elaborate monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements.

•Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide IFRS interpretation.

•Prepare technical memorandums that document issues in logical and clear financial statements.

•Comply with fiscal and legal requirements.


General Accounting:

•Oversees the issuance, control and correct registration of invoices, credit notes and Accounts Receivable process.

•Monthly reconciliations of assets and liabilities accounts related to income and accounts receivables.

•Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team

•Month end, hard close and year-end closing. •Perform continuous assessment of the close process.

•Electronic Accounting based on Mexican tax regulations.

External/Internal Audits:

Objective:

Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely issuance of financial information in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local legislation, and Mercedes-Benz corporate policies. This role oversees the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial statements, accounts receivable, and general accounting, ensuring alignment with external and internal requirements. The position also manages communications with external auditors to support audit processes and safeguard accounting disclosures. Additionally, the manager ensures strong internal controls, adherence to corporate guidelines (4EP, Segregation of Duties), and continuous process improvement.

Day to day (main tasks):

Financial Reporting:


•Consolidate and reconcile data against financial system.


•Prepare financial reports for the Mexican stock market, legal, external affairs and taxes requirements.


•Cost of Sales and Inventory deviations analysis and reporting to management.


•Create and maintain accounting calendar to inform parties of necessary deadline adherence for financial close, monthly closing, financial statement audit, etc.


•Ensure timely monthly and Annual Reports on consolidation System.

Financial Statements:


•Elaborate monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements.


•Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide IFRS interpretation.


•Prepare technical memorandums that document issues in logical and clear financial statements.


•Comply with fiscal and legal requirements.

General Accounting:


•Oversees the issuance, control and correct registration of invoices, credit notes and Accounts Receivable process.


•Monthly reconciliations of assets and liabilities accounts related to income and accounts receivables.


•Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team


•Month end, hard close and year-end closing.
•Perform continuous assessment of the close process.


•Electronic Accounting based on Mexican tax regulations.


•Cash flow position and reporting as Treasury and management requested.

External/Internal Audits:


•Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.


•Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures.

Internal Controls/Processes/General:


•Support and ensure that the processes of the area are implemented, maintained and according to local, corporate and internal guidelines.
•Implement and execute internal controls to assure adherence to the defined processes.


•Ensure the Intercompany accounts reconciliations.


•Report deviations to Management.


•Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team.

Profile

Education:
Bachelor´s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Previous experience:
5-8 years in accounting; 2+ years financial statement/reporting.

Languages
: Advanced English

Additional Qualifications:
SAP, IFRS, accounting rules.

Manage Financial Reporting for Businesses

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on IFRS and US GAAP conversions.
  • Assist in advisory engagements related to financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting policy implementations.
  • Support CFOs and Controllers with regulatory compliance and implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Conduct research on technical accounting issues and provide recommendations for best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in accounting advisory, financial reporting, or external audit.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and other international accounting frameworks.
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent certification is required (or in progress).
  • Exposure to multiple industries is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential.
