We are currently seeking a Database Management Specialist to join our team in Guadalajara, México (MX-MEX), Mexico (MX).
Position Summary :
The SQL Database Administration is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of applications. This is a "hands-on" position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities will include:
+ Manage SQL Server databases through multiple lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
+ Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
+ Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations
+ Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
+ Ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
+ Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
+ Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
+ Proactively identify and resolve database performance issues and bottlenecks.
+ Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
+ Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
+ Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
+ Participate in continuous process improvement.
+ Make recommendations for system architecture per Microsoft SQL Server best practices.
Position Requirement:
+ 5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience
+ Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
+ Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
+ Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
+ Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
+ Flexible, team player, "get-it-done" personality
+ Ability to organize and plan work independently
+ Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
+ Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.

Position Overview
The position is the gatekeeper of the customs import-export database, regularly updating its catalogs on approved changes by the import-export manager. Works directly with the provider on software performance and maintenance updates and projects related to customs regulations or company requirements changes.
Performs the monthly inventory backflush analysis vs the data stage file and SAP inventory balances, reviewing the report with the import-export manager for approval before it’s presented to SAT.
Confirms that export declarations via the SAP BOM generated file are correct (SAP, BPM TXT file vs commercial invoice information generated by the customs software) working with the SAP reporting team on required updates that reflect correct information on the Cis.
What you'll do
- Maintain and control the IMMEX inventory balance in the customs compliance software under the threshold period required by Mexican Customs Law by type of operation (18 months for IN, 6 months for V1, etc.
- Reconcile all import and export manifests (pedimentos) against the DataStage file that’s received by SAT.
- Execute the monthly backflush process in the customs compliance software against the reconciled DataStage inventory to get to the PCN/HTS quantity balance and generate an executive summary.
- Cross-reference the backflush report against the SAP inventory by PCN to identify offenders
- Transmit the monthly backflush report to SAT once approved by the import-export manager
- Direct point of contact with the software provider for maintenance updates or other requirements
- Maintain and control project logs for hourly service packages
- Work in conjunction with local IT on databases backup
- Update all software catalogs as required (new components, finished products, unit costs, HTS codes, etc.)
- Update all labor and raw material unit costs once a month
- Train new associates in basic user or the software
- Generate SQL reports, reporting templates, document layouts and automated month-end report mail outs
- Ensures correct commercial invoice EDI transmissions are being received by the MX/US customs brokers

Your New Role **:**
Our Media Platform Operations team is looking for a highly capable Senior Database Administrator that can operate effectively without day-to-day supervision. You will be creating and implementing standardized database management procedures, and overseeing the installation, security, and upgrading of our database.

Your Role Accountabilities:
**OPERATIONS/PROJECT MANAGEMENT**

+ Participate in New Projects - Defining database strategy, architecture, standards, and procedures to uphold the integrity and security of company data resources.
+ Deploying, upgrading, relocating , and decommissioning database servers both on-prem and in the cloud.
+ Being part of the team that includes participation in an On-Call rotation to provide our customers 24/7 support.
**STRATEGY**
+ Reviewing the existing database monitoring and backup strategy and come up with a new strategy based on the business requirements.
+ Participate in developing and maintaining SAP HANA for monitoring database conditions and activities.
+ Participate in identifying , proposing and implementing new and emerging technologies to support ongoing projects and business operations.
**ANALYTICS**
+ Work with the team leads to d esigning, implementing, and testing high availability and business continuity plans for our Tier 1 applications.
+ Creating, r eview ing and maintaining database documentation.
+ Creating, reviewing and maintaining operational documentation that can be used by our 24/7 operations team and junior database administrators.
Qualifications & Experiences:
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or information technology.
+ Minimum 5 + years of hands-on administration experience, from setting up the SAP HANA databases.
+ Experience with the various database platforms like DB2 , MySQL, PostgreSQL will be helpful as well.
+ E xperience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy utilizing Unix shell scripting , Windows BAT , Python etc .
+ Experience with different monitoring tools like DBI, DataDog etc.
+ Some experience with AWS with knowledge of S3, EC2, IAM, Security, Lambda, Networking etc.
+ Ability and experience with the development of processes and procedures to standardize Database installations and configuration .
+ Extensive experience with implementation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery and High availability.
+ Ability to provide 24/7 support.
Not Required but preferred experience:

- Train new associates in basic user or the software
- Generate SQL reports, reporting templates, document layouts and automated month-end report mail outs
- Ensures correct commercial invoice EDI transmissions are being received by the MX/US customs brokers
- Any other activity assigned by the import-export manager
Who you are
- 5 years of experience in Similar Positions.
- Minimum education: Engineering in IT, LCI, LAE or similar.
- Organizational skills.
- Customs Law and its Regulation.
- Trade Treaties.
- Foreign Trade Rules.
- Database management.
- English 85%.
- SAP System.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel.
