**Job Description**
**The Team**
The Database cloud service team can provide you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. At every level, our engineers have a significant technical and business impact designing and building innovative new systems to power our customer's business critical applications. **For this position the qualified engineer will solve complex problems related to the infrastructure of our cloud services to resolve problem and recover services including design, development and deployment of a platform to automate standard operating procedures to improve availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle Database cloud services.**
**Skills:**
At least BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience with production environment at high scale with emphasis on availability, latency and healthy customer experience
Very strong analytical skills to identify problems and its root cause
Systematic problem solving approach, combined with a strong sense of ownership and drive.
Very Good understanding of operating large scale distributed systems
**Solid software development skill using Java.**
**Experience with troubleshooting complex issues on existing Java codebase.**
Good communications skills, ability to own and lead software design and development
Experience in Building and handling Linux OS systems with good understanding how the Linux kernel works (IO, Network, etc.)
Experience in Building and handling Virtualized systems (KVM, OVM, Containers/Docker) and ability to read and understand source code strongly preferred

**Responsibilities**
Participate in the design, architecture and operation of large-scale Distributed Database cloud service features.
Responsible for the design and develop of automation and automation framework, with focus on service, security, resiliency, scale, and performance.
Participate in research, prototyping (proof of concept) and development of different aspect of Oracle Database Cloud service.
Define and develop monitoring infrastructure criteria for Oracle Database Cloud service.
Solve complex and difficult problems and build automation to prevent problem recurrence and quickly diagnose/mitigate similar issues.
Participate in software performance analysis and system tuning.

This is a reduced-time, temporary, non-virtual internship position based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
This role is designed exclusively for university bachelor's degree students currently enrolled in Computer Science or related field, and have not yet graduated.
Interns at Amazon Mexico work 6-hour shift per day, totaling 30-hours per week.
As an intern, selected candidate(s) will be matched to a manager and a mentor, and will have the opportunity to have an impact on the evolution of Amazon technology and help with critical business projects early in their careers. Our team of interns' design, code, and raw smarts will contribute to solving complex technical challenges in the areas of distributed systems, data mining, automation, optimization, scalability, and security.
Software Development Engineering internships at Amazon are based on writing software code and collaborating with a team of tenured Software Development Engineers (SDEs) who guide project deliverables that matter to our customers. In addition to working on an impactful projects, interns will have the opportunity to engage with other Amazon employees on both personal and professional growth, expand their network, and participate in activities throughout their internship.
Interns are provided with all proper tools to own their projects and learn in a real-world setting.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor in Mexico geographic markets. The base pay for this entry-level, reduced-time, temporary position ranges from MXN 16,000 and MXN 18,000 per month.

- Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
- Collaborate to design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment, and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
- Collaborate to create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.

By covering such a broad spectrum, .NET team is in a unique strategic position to gain firsthand experience of the entire stack of the latest Oracle technologies.
