Objective
The Process Engineer will contribute to maintain and improve manufacturing KPI´s and provide solutions to problems that may arise in Nemak plants.
Main Responsibilities:
- Continuous improvement of the internal and external scrap. To keep it within or below the target. Ensure the compliance of the process and product standards across all the operations involved in the manufacturing process (melting, core making, tooling, molding, decoring, riser cut, deflashing, heat treatment) of a casting (cylinder head or structural).
- Process improvement (control and process variability reduction).
- Manage the process of definition and implementation of engineering changes, either customer or internally driven. Perform feasibility studies, simulations to evaluate impact to casting quality, trials to evaluate impact on all processes.
- Ensure tooling and engineering model update. Ensure measurement (cmm) updates, fixtures, and impact on machining process. Ensure the correct deployment of engineering changes thru internal and customer required protocols and
- procedures.
- Documentation and update of process FMEA, control plan, flow diagram, standard procedures, work instructions, process check sheets.
- Quality improvement thru structured problem analysis and solution tools. Use of statistical analysis for decision making.
- Use of available or proposed it tools, apps to optimize process management. Definition and optimization of process windows to tighten process specs when required to improve quality kpis.
Position requirements:
- Education: bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or any engineering related.
- Experience: 5- 8 years as process engineer in automotive industry, foundry processes preferably aluminum (gravity, low pressure, high pressure) and core making.
- Proven experience and skills in problem analysis and solution (dmaic, deep drill and wide, 3 step analysis, red x) knowledge and experience in melting processes, molding, tooling maintenance.

The role…
To optimize supply chain operations by managing daily planning, warehouse and consignment inventories, and logistics for Weidmann. Support the transition to a value-added service provider through vendor-managed inventories, third-party product coordination, and warehouse development, ensuring alignment with strategic goals across all PBUs.
How you’ll make an impact…
- Utilizing customer forecast and/or MRP data, plan and maintain customer material inventory needs to ensure consistent supply to their warehouses.
- Execute purchase orders in SAP based on schedules to guarantee on-time deliveries.
- Manage customers’ material inventories, including consignment stock, to maintain optimal levels and meet objectives.
- Review and analyze Customer MRP’s to determine appropriate replenishment levels.
- Place orders with Weidmann sites and third-party vendors to maintain appropriate inventories.
- Coordinate the transportation of goods from Weidmann sites to third-party warehouses.
- Oversee the import/export of goods across North America, working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers as needed.
- Review and approve vendor invoices and work with Finance to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels by: analyzing and updating safety stock, monthly inventory reconciliations, develop and execute plans for aged inventory and support annual physical inventories at third-party warehouses, which may include travel
- Process invoices in SAP for shipped materials to ensure accurate and timely accounting.
- Act as the primary contact for consignment inventory customers, addressing needs, resolving issues, and coordinating material returns.
- Ensure accurate data entry in the materials module to generate essential reports and purchase orders.

Position Overview
As the Workplace Integration (WPI) Lead, you will manage the integration and readiness of production workstations ahead of a new model launch. You will ensure ergonomic safety, material flow efficiency, and technical standards are met—overseeing the process from CAD layout planning to final installation and approval.
Core Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead the full cycle—from initial CAD layout proposals through final approvals and physical installation on the plant floor.
- Material Display & Flow: Design safe and efficient material display setups for each workstation, operating within safety and ergonomic guidelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with industrial engineering, containerization, packaging, and ergonomics teams to align workstation integration and material handling.
- Documentation: Create and maintain Material Display Documents (MDDs), specifying equipment requirements for each workstation based on parts and packaging.
- Offline Sequencing/Kitting: Design and implement offline kitting or sequencing cells when main-line space is constrained.
- PFEP Maintenance: Manage the Plan For Every Part (PFEP) —including part number, description, weight, packaging, point-of-use, container, density, etc.—ensuring the data remains accurate and current.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the single point of contact in digital layout (“scroll”) meetings, presenting layouts, packaging, part numbers, and material display equipment for review and buyoff.
- Issue Tracking: Maintain a comprehensive Action Register to track and resolve integration issues in coordination with stakeholders (IE, Production, Safety, Ergonomics).
- Creative Integration Solutions: Innovate in system design by introducing changes in packaging, equipment, or facility design to accommodate dense workstation environments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in internal logistics engineering or a closely related field, especially involving workstation integration and new model launches.
- Communication Skills: Intermediate to advanced English; Spanish proficiency is a strong advantage given the Saltillo location.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Access, and familiarity with logistics systems such as ODCICS2 (or comparable).
