We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ Administrator with deep expertise in middleware messaging infrastructure and high availability (HA) configurations in on-premises and/or cloud environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in MQ queue manager lifecycle management, RDQM setup and troubleshooting, and JMS/JNDI integration to support Java applications. This role requires hands-on experience in HA clustering, DR replication (DRBD), and cloud-native MQ deployment patterns using GKE or Compute Engineer.
**Your role and responsibilities**
Key Responsibilities:
· Administer and support IBM MQ queue managers, ensuring reliable message delivery across distributed and clustered environments.
· Manage and maintain queues, channels, listeners, and transmission paths between multiple MQ instances, optimizing routing and performance.
· Implement and sustain high-availability and disaster recovery configurations, including replicated or quorum-based queue manager setups.
· Oversee queue manager lifecycle activities, including setup, configuration, and controlled decommissioning, aligned with enterprise change standards.
· Maintain data replication and synchronization mechanisms used for queue manager redundancy and failover protection.
· Analyze and interpret MQ logs, FDCs, and diagnostic reports to identify root causes, address system incidents, and prevent recurrence.
· Integrate JMS-based applications with MQ through standardized JNDI contexts and connection configurations, ensuring consistent and secure connectivity.
· Troubleshoot application-level connection issues across both bindings and client communication modes, ensuring low-latency and resilient operation.
· Validate and monitor HA group health, node quorum status, and replication states to maintain continuous availability of messaging workloads.
· Collaborate with middleware and cloud platform teams to design hybrid MQ topologies deployed across Linux and cloud (GCP/Kubernetes) environments.
· Ensure consistent configuration and operational compliance through infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and configuration baselining.
· Develop and maintain operational documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration inventories, and standard operating procedures.
· Partner with development and integration teams to optimize message persistence, routing, and throughput for business-critical applications.
· Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for messaging-related service disruptions.
· Mentor team members and promote best practices in MQ administration, HA management, and operational resilience.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
· 5+ years of hands-on experience administering IBM MQ in distributed and/or cloud environments.
· Strong proficiency with RDQM setup and management
· Experience in JMS/JNDI configuration
· Solid understanding of MQ HA mechanisms
· Familiarity with Linux-based MQ deployments and MQ control commands.
· Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
· MQ monitoring experience
**Preferred technical and professional experience**

Consultant, Advisors Client Services, Data & Services
Mastercard Data & Services provides cutting-edge data analysis and services to Fortune 500s, governments, and nonprofits to make multimillion-dollar business decisions and grow their organizations. Our Advisors Client Services team combines traditional management consulting with Mastercard's rich data assets and in-house technologies to provide our clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. Mastercard Advisors work with a diverse global customer base across industries, from banking and payments to retail and finance.
The Advisors Client Services group has five specializations: Performance Analytics, Strategy & Transformation, Business Experimentation, Marketing and Project Management. Our Performance Analytics consultants use AI, Machine learning and BI platforms, develop cutting edge insights and products for our clients using Mastercard, customer & 3rd party data assets. Apply qualitative and quantitative techniques on our enterprise applications (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, NiFi, Python, Impala, and more) to deliver solutions and products that creates business impact. Get hands-on to design, implement & scale analytical solutions for customers across industries.

Roles and Responsibilities
Client Impact
- Manage deliverable development and workstreams on projects across a range of industries and problem statements
- Contribute to/develop analytics strategies and programs for large, regional and global clients by leveraging data and technology solutions to unlock client value
- Manage working relationship with client managers, and act as trusted and reliable partner
Team Collaboration & Culture
- Develop sound business recommendations and deliver effective client presentations
- Plan, organize, and structure own work and that of junior project delivery consultants to identify effective analysis structures to address client problems and synthesize analyses into relevant findings
- Lead team and external meetings, and lead or co-lead project management
- Contribute to the firm's intellectual capital and solution development
- Grow from coaching to enable ownership of day-to-day project management across client projects, and mentor junior consultants
Qualifications
Basic qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with data and analytics experience business intelligence and/or descriptive, predictive, or prescriptive analytics projects
- Experience managing clients or internal stakeholders
- Able to analyze large datasets and synthesize key findings to provide recommendations via descriptive analytics and business intelligence
- Data and analytics experience:
- Data analytics software (e.g., Python, R, SQL, SAS)
- Building, managing, and maintaining database structures
- Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Able to communicate effectively in English and the local office language
- Eligible to work in the country where they are applying and for travel visas as required by travel needs
Preferred qualifications
- Experience managing tasks or workstreams in a collaborative team environment
- Experience coaching junior delivery consultants
- Additional data and analytics experience:
- Hadoop framework and coding using Impala, Hive, or Psypark
- Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Relevant industry expertise
- MBA or master's degree with relevant specialization (not required)
