Board Solutions being a one stop key provider of hardware development tools and in NXP, which has been supporting both the design, manufacture and supply chain of the hardware developer tools. Our integrated hardware development solutions for embedded microprocessors have been widely adopted by customers worldwide. NXP extends the hardware manufacturing operation in Romania to support the New Production Introduction (NPI), system design, hardware manufacturing & system integration.

We now offer the technical position of Hardware Test Engineer for NXP’s Board Solutions in Mexico, responsible for all aspect of product testing and functional test management from the concept and design to manufacture, testability, safety and quality of the hardware products.

**The Hardware Test Engineer will be responsible for**:

- Responsible for the design and development of test solution in terms of hardware design and software coding for product functional test.
- Understand test specification and requirement given by design and manufacturing team, and analyzed product features to proposal the test coverage, as well as design the test system.
- Capable in understanding product design schematics and circuit diagram, and identify / proposed measurement points and test points with design and PCB CAD team.
- Identify and select suitable test equipment for product electrical measurement.
- Ability to design electronic circuit and source for electronics components for use to interface with product during testing
- Perform test software coding or code development to drive test equipment, product-firmware interface, test result data-log, and fixture software control.
- Brainstorm and provide ideas, suggestions and solution to the various approach of testing a product.
- Design and work with contract manufacturer to designing test fixture & jigs to support the production.
- Participate in peer reviews of test engineering to improve hardware development process across the Board Solutions Group.
- Conduct research into new technology and methodology for consistent measurement of a product feature.
- Work cross functionally to ensure the resolution of problems and actions as needed
- Ability to work independently, resolve technical and manufacturing issues without detailed direction, and work as part of a team
- Ability to work within strict deadlines
- Capability to accurately and efficiently work on multiple projects.
- Escalate design related issues to Hardware Design Manager.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in electronics, product & industrial design, or related filed.
- Minimum of 5 years experiences in test engineering, test development, or equivalent working experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Test and measurement instrumentation exposure and experience in software development for remote equipment control is required.
- Possess software coding experience. C#, C++, Visual Studio, Linux, Android and script programming skill. Experience with NI Labview is a plus.
- Prior experience with CPLD/FPGAs in implementing advanced HW control / monitoring / logging is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of RF design (NFC, LTE, Wi-Fi, WiMAX) is an advantage.
- Good technical and analytical skill with ability to perform electronic system debug effectively
- Experience in digital networking manufacturing test development, power meter, RF and wireless test development, Touchpad/Touch-screen device test development will be an extreme advantage.
- Knowledge in micro-Controller programming, Android, Linux programming will be an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good teamwork adaptability, good oral and written English skills, self-motivated.
- Have a determined mindset and personal commitment to high quality work with schedule.
- Ability to occasional travel on an ‘as required’ basis.

As a Homie, you are a bar raiser, which means you come with

  • 4+ years of Mobile Software Engineering experience
  • Expert in Kotlin, Kotlin coroutines, and various common Android frameworks
  • Nice to have: Experience with Java and Jetpack components, MVI & Compose
  • Advanced understanding of object-oriented software design and design patterns, and how they apply to the frameworks listed above
  • Advanced understanding of performant code
  • Knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries
  • Testing framework experience - unit, feature, and integration
  • Knowledge of Jira, Git, Github, CircleCI, and development using pull requests
  • Strong systematic and problem-solving skills

Position Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer within International, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to design and development within a collaborative team environment. Your role is key in helping our Engineering team weigh in on the design & direction of our initiatives, engage in collaborative discussion amongst the group on the most technically sound approach forward, contribute to our SDLC to deliver new capabilities, and coach & mentor junior team members. You’ll work side-by-side with Product Owners, Software Test Engineers, and Business Stakeholders, and be actively involved in an agile software development environment.
International is a complex Product domain and within our team you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in our path towards product modernization, delivering exciting new product capabilities, and working to solve key architectural challenges that will enable future growth and scale.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs and business goals.
  • Often act as a technical lead for features or epics and complete features or epics where the approach is loosely defined and requires technical & design discovery prior to implementation
  • Advocate for best practices and a healthy balance of tech debt versus delivery
  • Actively mentor/coach less-experienced team members
  • Ensure code is flexible, reusable, extensible performant, and high quality through feedback on code reviews
  • Decompose outcomes into solutions composed of multiple software components interacting with each other
  • Understand and consider technical dependencies
  • Provide feedback via decision-making frameworks for proposed changes from across the org
  • Work within the scope of a team and participate in driving cross-team collaboration
  • Find innovative ways to increase the quality and velocity of your work
  • Demonstrate a passion for writing quality software

Required Experience
  • 5 years’ hands-on experience preferred with full-stack web development, with experience in Client-Side Programming
  • Proven expertise with .NET 5+
  • Experience developing highly interactive applications
  • A firm grasp of object-oriented analysis and design
  • Passion for writing great, simple, clean, efficient code
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases
  • Must be well versed with Systems Architecture and developer tools
  • Experience with unit testing and integration test automation
  • Must be adaptable to change and have a willingness to learn
  • Must commit to their role and take responsibility for their tasks
  • Must be able to work effectively in an agile and team environment
  • Must be effective and creative in problem solving
  • RESTful API design and development
Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering, technology related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with product migration from data-center to cloud
  • Experience with managing a large-scale SaaS production environment for availability, reliability, and resiliency
  • Prior experience with Cloud Platforms Azure, GCP, or AWS (preferred)
  • Experience with NoSQL databases
  • Proven experience with React
