Main Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and test PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems (Rockwell, Siemens)
- Develop functional specifications and process control descriptions
- Configure and set up fieldbus networks (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
- Integrate and test automation systems in-house and on-site
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and support automation systems at customer sites
- Prepare operator manuals and technical documentation
Requirements & Experience:
- Engineering degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and control systems
- Proven programming skills with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs/HMIs
- Understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems
- Experience with vision systems, RFID, measurement, and instrumentation equipment

+ Learn the basics of case handling (how cases react as they flow through the palletizer).
+ Take a meaningful role in design and troubleshooting discussions with the mechanical engineers.
+ Design and implement control systems for palletizers. This includes creating the drawing package, releasing it to our panel builder and answering questions/resolving issues at our panel builder, in our assembly shop, and in the field.
+ Write and implement PLC and HMI programs for palletizers. If a project includes a robot, the Palletizer Controls Engineer is also responsible for the robot program.
+ Test and commission palletizers and robot cells in our St. Louis shop and at customer sites.
+ Execute all projects tasks on schedule and within contract hours.
YOU MUST HAVE
+ B.S. in Engineering or have significant experience as a skilled electrician or electronics specialist.
+ Working knowledge of PCs, PLC hardware, PLC programming and data communication, pneumatics and electronics.
+ Significant mechanical aptitude
+ English proficiency
+ 5+ years of experience
+ Willingness to travel

+ Ability to create electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
+ Significant knowledge of controls practices and techniques
